WooHoo! I just got a book in the mail that has over 500 names for assorted formerly indescribable people.
Now, I have the exact word for the woman who, though childless, feels it’s her obligation to inform a mother of every aspect of feeding and raising her child (dry nurse), or for the person who insists that everyone play nice and get along no matter what (dimbox), or for the every day blowhard braggart full of conciet and verbiage (puckfist).
Of course, there are other words in there for decent people, too. It’s not all ad hominems. Like the agathist, who believes things will get better, that there’s a silver lining to all bad things – they aren’t content with the present, and the past was bad, but tomorrow will be better. Or the rosarian – a person who likes roses – a lot.
I think I’m going to have fun with this book.
