My youngest loves grilling. I have a kick-ass propane grill and a very good wood-burning grill.
The wood-burning grill is currently inaccessible due to the Zombie Maple, but the propane grill is easy to get to, just out of propane.
So, he bought a refill of propane for it today, then decided that – hey, the grill will work again – we need stuff to grill.
So he went to the Farmer’s Market and bought cabbage, vidalia onions, bell peppers, new potatoes, fingerling carrots, and fresh ears of corn. And being male, he also stopped and bought some very nice steaks.
Then he came home, hooked up the propane tank, cleaned the grill of it’s winter detritus, and set it all up and ready.
He set the steaks to marinading, and prepped the veggies for grilling.
And that’s the state of lunch right now – the wait as the grill and the meat achieve zen and we can start the cooking.
While we’re waiting for that, I pulled some dough out of the freezer. By the time it thaws, it should be ready to season and put on the grill, too.
