Well, Remy, the new kitten, has her stitches out. She and Keggers are playing together now, and the other night, she crept really close to him and ended up sleeping on him.

He retaliated by lying down upon Itzl the next day. Itzl was fine with it, except he couldn’t breathe under Keggers bulk. He lay there gasping for air and grinning his little puppy face off, so we pulled Itzl out from under Keggers. Itzl then promptly teased Remy with a feather toy, and they were off and playing.

Right now, Itzl is curled up sleeping in his new carry pouch. On his back. With a tummy full of egg yolk, cream of cheese soup, bacon, and a broken hamburger patty.

He likes the new carry pouch. It satisfies his need for bright colors, soft sheepskin, and being close to me. The pouch hangs around my neck, sort of like a necklace, with Itzl as the pendant. It’s a basic black with neon bright rings printed all over it in pink, yellow, orange, green, and turquoise and lined in fake sheepskin. There’s a heavy cardboard botton no wider than my forearm that stretches all the way across my torso. The pouch is 4 inches deep, 10 inches across, and plenty big enough for puppy sprawling. Of course, he can sit up in it, or lie on his tummy, but he seems to really like lying on his back in it, with his legs stretching up to scrape my chin.

Itzl grew bigger than we expected. He stands 7 inches tall(all but 2 1/2 inches of that is leg), and weighs 3 3/4 pounds. I’d post a recent picture, but I dropped the camera and broke it.

I’ll pause here for a short Bad News Break, I may have broken my thigh by tripping on a piece of air and smashing down on my knee. There is no bruise because I used my magic potion, Bruise Juice. But Bruise Juice does nothing for breaks, and I don’t have any Broke Bone Potion left. I used it all up when I broke my finger last October, and can’t make new until the right plants ripen.

Ah, well, if it is broken, at least it’s a “good break”, meaning it broke lengthwise instead of across and doesn’t need to be set. I can still walk, so long as I walk straight and level, and don’t keep all my weight on it for long.

And now we return to the on-going Good News Coverage. My daughter has a job, and it’s not a temp job. She started it this morning. She doesn’t know the name of the company, although she does know the name of the owner and the two office cats and three of her co-workers. It’s closer than her temp job assignment, just in a different direction. We’ll go clothes shopping for her tonight, as the cheaply made Ross clothes didn’t last a whole year. We’ll check a few consignment shops and Name Brand Clothing, because those clothes wear well.
