My Week

Remember my “70 before 70″ List?

I thought I’d provide an update on it.

I learned enough plumbing (#31 on my list) to repair my washing machine when it broke last week. I still have more to do, since I need to learn how to repair the drains and replace the cold water pipes, and install the new bathroom lavatory I purchased last year. I don’t understand why the plumber wanted more than $2,000 to install a lowly $40 lavatory, so I am determined to learn how to do it myself.

I repaired my gazebo (#63). Unfortunately, it looks like last night’s thunderstorm undid most of my work. However, I know how to do it and how to do it better than last time. All I need is a dry day to undertake it.

I bought the laptop I wanted (#65), and have it mostly set up.

I updated my funeral plans (#69), because it never hurts to keep current. Who knows when a freak accident will happen? Failing freak accidents, I intend to live a long time.

Now, in addition to The List, I have a lot of lesser things I plan to do. This week, I woke most of my garden up, set up a bramble berry bed, completed Itzl’s service dog training and received his certifications and patches, fed 80 hungry people, went to the NaNo meeting, repaired that washing machine, went on a picnic, did the usual house chores, sewed Itzl a vest for his patches because no one makes one small enough for him, wrote 20,000 combined words on 3 novels, did some more polishing on the “onna stick” cookbook, wrote 2 bad poems for Bad Poetry Night, cooked 21 meals (and ate most of them), took a myriad of photos, joined a newagey “toy” club (they send tarot cards, runes, essential oils, etc. I don’t need any of this stuff, and I aready know most of all they are promoting, but if the quality holds up, it might be worth suggesting to people who want to dabble but aren’t terribly serious about all of this – it’s not expensive, either, which is a plus), watched “Earthsea” and the new “Wickerman”, and am in the process of baking a pound cake, cinnamon rolls, and bread for lunches next week.

Oh, and fixed the computer clock because the patch I downloaded that was supposed to do it didn’t.
